A heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributes to my and other memorials on Findagrave.
However, due to a very busy workload, please forgive me if I do not thank everyone individually or get back to requests in a timely fashion. This is particularly true over holidays. Last Christmas, I received numerous on holidays. This is in my opinion, a little inconsiderate, so please consider waiting until after the holidays! Thank you.
Also, please note I am not able to respond to texts, Facebook messages or others sent to email. I use a secondary email account for Findagrave and other accounts that I can only check when time permits.
When I add memorials to Findagrave, it is our intention to help others find their family. After my mother died in 2013, all of her memorials were transferred to me and to honor her wishes, I gladly transfer her memorials whenever possible (if they are not our own family.)
Upon receiving updates, I sometimes elect to transfer without being asked. If you receive an unexpected transfer and not wish to manage it, please transfer to someone else interested in managing it or back to me.
REQUESTS TO ADD OBITUARIES:
Obits under copyright should be summarized or will not be posted. In most cases, there is a 72-year or longer time period.
I also respect the right of hard working transcribers, so please do not ever send work done by others.
PHOTOGRAPHS OF TOMBSTONES:
I share my tombstone photos freely, but only if appropriate attribution is added.
If you wish to download a tombstone picture, you may do so for personal usage and should give proper credit. Under no circumstances should they be added to other sites (such as Ancestry) as if they are your own.
If you are interested in a photo other than a tombstone, do not download it without permission. You may leave me a message on my profile page and I will let you know if you can use it or need to pay a licensing fee.
Remember. Even if a photographer took a photo that is now out of copyright, if the copyright was inherited or belongs to a special collection (many that I own or control), licensing fees can legally be applied.
Unfortunately, so many have been wrongfully stolen, I reserve the right to take appropriate legal action if any are lifted and republished without appropriate permission. If you have added my work to other online sites, or placed in public or private archives as if it is your own, please delete them. Thank you.
REVOLUTIONARY WAR RESEARCH:
One of my interests is the American Revolutionary war period. The link on the bottom will take you to a research page on Facebook. It's a wonderful place where interested researchers help others find resources.
