Bio

In memory of all those "who lived faithfully a hidden life,
and rest in unvisited tombs." -- George Eliot

:*:-.,_,.-:*: * And I Quote * :*:-.,_,.-:*:

Dear One :--
These graves hold the dust of your history
for long years some have been gone
many lived and died before you were born
untold generations have now traveled on. . . .
So when you come here to reminisce
and auld acquaintance to renew
may the memories never dim
let them be not forgot
'cause they begat the who who begat you.

I can sense them calling out to me
from the gloaming of my past
"Please do not let us be forgot.
Record our stories that we may last."

Note that most of my photo requests are used for requesting replacement photos on findagrave pages featuring memorial stones covered with chalk, flour, shaving cream, etc. I usually accompany the request with a note such as the following . . . "Respectfully requesting a NEW photo of this old tombstone, with NO chalk, shaving cream, etc. Thanking you in advance for your time and effort." . . . and FYI . . . the following findagrave blogpost contains helpful info regarding headstone photography . . . https://news.findagrave.com/2019/06/25/find-a-grave-headstone-photography

For those who wonder about such things . . . the # of memorials managed is higher than the # of memorials created due to a few members who decided to transfer a large number of their memorials to multiple findagrave contributors . . . and I was honored to be one of the contributors trusted to look after some of those pages . . . many have now been transferred on to family members.

My ancestors, they hail from . . .
the redlands of Texas . . . and the marshes of Maine . . .
the plantations of Georgia . . . and the courts of Spain . . .
and a hodgepodge of places . . . betwixt and between . . .

When do I leave flowers? . . . when I visit a page with *no* flowers . . . when I visit a family member . . . when I visit a family friend . . . when I update a page I manage . . . when I accept a suggested edit on a page I manage . . . when one of my suggested edits is accepted on a page I do *not* manage . . . etc. etc. etc. . . .
