Bio

I am a cemetery walker. Cemeteries for me have always been a haven, a museum and an office. When the weather permits, that is where you most likely will find me. In each family there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again. To tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. Cemetery walking is not a cold gathering of facts; but instead, breathing life into all who have gone before. We are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called, as it were, by our genes. Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story. My story begins with my Daddy, Tommie Johnson, and his first cousin, Wadell Jennings. Wadell's father, loved his family, passing it down to these two. Daddy loved and took care of his family..also took care of his neighbors. I still miss him every day.
When do I leave flowers? . . . when I visit a page with *no* flowers . . . when I visit a family member . . . when I visit a family friend . . . when I update a page I manage . . . when I accept a suggested edit on a page I manage . . . when one of my suggested edits is accepted on a page I do *not* manage .

As for transfers, I do not subscribe to the four-generation rule. If I have added a memorial for one of your relatives or friends and you would like to manage it, please let me know and I will be more than happy to transfer the memorial to you. You have my permission to use my photographs, as long as you do not use them to make a profit.

I am a member of The Houston County Historical Commission. I Chair the Cemetery Preservation Committee. Carol Anne
