Marion Chronicle 24 April 1980

Edward W. Diskey, 72, 3707 S. Alabama Ave., Marion, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday in Marion General Hospital, after an illness of three months.

Mr. Diskey was a native and lifelong resident of Marion. He was a retired employee of the Anaconda Wire and Cable Co., Marion, where he had worked for 40 years. He was the former owner of Diskey Well Service, and was a member of the Holiness House of Prayer.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Delano (Anna) Adamson and Mrs. Walter (Patricia) Turner, both of Marion; seven sons, Edward W. Diskey Jr., Sims, John R. Diskey, Jonesboro, Charles E. Diskey, Bloomington, Arthur A. Diskey, Gas City, and Kenneth L., Clifford L., and David W. Diskey, all of Marion; three brothers, Walter B., Ralph and Arthur Diskey, all of Marion; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Rose) Wesco, Jonesboro, and Mrs. Robert (Ida Mary) Oswalt and Mrs. Joseph (Iva) Smithhart, both of Marion; 37 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Holiness House of Prayer, Spencer and Butler Avenues, Marion. The Rev. Larry Bolden will officiate and burial will be in the Marion IOOF Cemetery.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today, and from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Holiness House of Prayer. Needham and Son Funeral Home, Marion, is in charge of arrangements.
