He was born in Marion, Indiana to the late John and Cecelia (Wagner) Diskey. He married Elizabeth Joann Cox on January 15, 1945. She survives. Arthur retired from General Motors after 34 years. He was also a barber, taxidermist, realtor, plus other jobs. He was a US Army Veteran. He was a member of the UAW 977 and a lifetime member of NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a supporter of the Crystal Cathedral in California.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Joann Diskey, Marion; children, Arthur L. (Betty) Diskey, Jr., Marion, Sandra E. Hughes, LaFontaine, Ned (Loxi) Diskey, Fairmount, Daniel D. (Mary) Diskey, New Port Richey, Fla., Darrell A. (Pam) Diskey, Mt. Zion, Ill., Carol L. Everhart, Gas City; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by eight brothers; three sisters, and two grandsons.
Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2011 Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, Indiana with Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will be in Estates of Serenity, Marion, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2011 in the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Altzheimer's Association, 50 E. 91st St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830
