OBITUARY: Marion Chronicle Marion Indiana, 29 January 1980 ---

John O. Diskey, 79, 1319 Marion Ave., Marion, died at 7:43 p.m. Sunday, 27 January 1980, in Marion General Hospital.

Mr. Diskey was a life resident of Marion, and was a retired employee of the city water works. He was an avid flower grower.

Survivors include his wife, Blanche; a son, Marion Diskey, Marion, a daughter, Mrs. Cheryl Bailey, Marion; four brothers, Walter, Edward, Ralph and Arthur, all of Marion; three sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Rose) Wesco, Jonesboro, and Mrs. Robert (Ida Mary) Oswalt and Mrs. Joseph (Iva) Smithhart, both of Marion; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will by 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Needham and Son Funeral Home, 814 S. Adams St., Marion, with the Rev. J. Haskell Wooldridge in charge. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory cemetery, Huntington County.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.



Just a note--John did not have a middle name and used the initial 'O', but it did not stand for anything.
