Edward was a U.S. Army veteran from 1950-1952 and served during the Korean War. Following his military service, he worked at Active Products as a Quality Inspector and retired after 25 years of service. Edward also previously drilled wells.
Some of Edward's favorite hobbies included woodworking, working on cars and motorcycles, fishing, hunting, and camping. He also enjoyed watching Westerns.
Survivors include his children, Edina (Stephen) Miller, Gas City, Phyllis Rankin, Idaho, and Clayton (Donna) Diskey, Georgia; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Diskey, Art (Theresa) Diskey, John (Peggy) Diskey, and David (Pat) Diskey; and sister, Pat (Mike) Bowman.
In addition to his parents and wife, preceding Edward in death were his son, Ed Diskey; brothers, Ken and Cliff Diskey; and sister, Anna Adamson.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN 46986.
Services to celebrate Edward's life will be at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Thursday with Pastor Kenneth Ward officiating. Burial will follow at Thrailkill Cemetery.
