S. Jeff Emory, 72, of Weaverville Route 2, died Saturday afternoon at his home.
He was a native of Buncombe County, son of the late John Pinkney Emory and Harriett Keziah Buckner Emory, and infant son Richard Emory.
Jeff was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Violet Estelle "Essie" Myers Emory; five daughters, Mary Madgelene Emory Loven, Dorothy Irene Emory Brown, Mildred Montana Emory Emory Metcalf all of Weaverville, Willie Mae Emory Hawkins, of Alexander, Juanita Emory Hill of Asheville; five sons, Clarence Donald Emory, Lee John "LJ" Emory, Jerry Lee Emory, Worth Gardner Emory and Eric Dave Emory all of Weaverville. two sisters; Esta Virginia Emory Deaver of Asheville, and Pansy Delora Emory Garrison of Weaverville; 3 Wilburn Emory and Woodson Emory of Weaverville, and Furman Emory of Asheille; and 20 grandchildren.
Rev. Willard and Rev. A. J. Buckner will officiate.
Burial will take place a West Memorial Park, Weaverville, Buncombe County, North Carolina.
Services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, Ivy Hill Baptist Church. Jeff had been a member for the past 50 years.
