Woodson John Emory, son of John Pinkney Emory and Harriett Keziah "Kessie" Buckner Emory, married Flossie Webb on July 15, 1933 in Buncombe County, North Carolina.

Flossie Webb, was the daughter of Everett V. Webb and Lenora Anderson Webb. Flossie was a school teacher and taught at Barnardsville, Mars Hill and Marshall.

Woodson was a carpenter, and built homes, owning his own business.

Parents of 3 children:

Woodson John Emory, 65, died at his home Saturday afternoon after a short illness.

A Buncombe County native, he was a building contractor and farmer, and member of Ivy Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Flossie Webb Emory; two daughters Barbara Dean Emory Chandler of West Asheville and Sandra Emory of the home; a son Emmette Emory of Pottstown, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Esta Emory Deaver of Asheville and Pansy Emory Garrison of Weaverville; a brother Wilburn Emory of Weaverville; and four grandchildren.

The Rev. Worth Emory, Rev. H. B. Youngblood and Rev. James Smith will officiate.

Pallbearers will be his nephews.
