Elmer Peter Verkuilen, age 74, Hatley, town of Norrie, died Tuesday, September 22, 1981 at his home.

He was born December 4, 1906 in the town of Elderon, the son of the late Martin and Mary (Hoks) Verkuilen.

On January 11, 1930 Elmer was united in marriage to Genevieve Wisneski. She survives.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, William (Sylvia) Verkuilen, Eden Prairie, MN and Claude (Peggy) Verkuilen, Roseville, MN; one daughter, Carol (Richard) Matsche, Birnamwood; one brother, Henry Verkuilen, Appleton; two sisters, Marie Breske, Eland and Irma Radke, Wausau; and 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Leslie and Melvin and three sisters, Rose Schrieber, Agnes VanderKooy and Cecelia Ploeger.

Funeral services were held September 25, 1981 at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley. The Rev. Chester Osowski officiated. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
