Genevieve Adelade "Jean" Verkuilen, age 87, a former Hatley resident, died Saturday, April 24, 1999 at the Homme Home of Wittenberg.

She was born December 3, 1911 in Virginia, MN, the daughter of the late Valentine and Valeria (Fryza) Wisneski.

Jean was united in marriage to Elmer P. Verkuilen on January 11, 1930 in Hatley. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1981.

Survivors include two sons, William (Sylvia) Verkuilen, Savage, MN and Claude (Peggy) Verkuilen, St. Paul, MN; one sister, Lucy Wronowski, Shawano; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Carol Matsche, two brothers, Stanley Wisneski and Vincent Wisneski and three sisters, Bernice Geigner, Laura Grenn and Balbina Gartzke-Kryshak.

Funeral services were held April 27, 1999 at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley. The Rev. Thomas Abraham officiated. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
