Police Chief's Mother Dies
Mrs. Isabel Shear Jones, 76, mother of Minneapolis Police Chief Thomas R. Jones, died Wednesday, April 14, 1954 at her home, 3012 Colfax Avenue South, Minneapolis.
Mrs. Jones, who had been ill for several months, was the widow of R.W. Jones. He died two years ago. Mrs. Jones who was born in Canada had lived in the Twin Cities since her marriage in 1900.
She was a member of Lyndale Congregational church; Minnehaha chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and Bethesda chapter of the White Shrine.
In addition to her son, Thomas, Mrs. Jones is survived by two other sons, W. Harold and J. Kenneth, both of Minneapolis, and four daughters, Mrs. Helen Sulem, Mrs. Florence Clemens, both of Minneapolis, Mrs. Hazel Ford, Excelsior, and Mrs. Marjorie Pitts, Pomona, California.
Services, arranged by Barney Anderson & Sons, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 17th at Sunset Memorial Chapel.
