Lida Belle Mitchell, age 85, of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, departed this life on February 19, 2014, at King's Daughters Medical Center, in Ashland, Kentucky. She was born on February 15, 1929, in Nicholas County, Kentucky, to the late Harley and Lula Belle Earlywine. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a member of Fox Valley Community Church.

Lida was preceded in death by: her husband, James "Jim Boy" Mitchell; two sons, Larry Mitchell and Hank Mitchell; a grandson, Michael Dale Hunt; her parents; and 12 siblings. She is survived by: eight children, Barbara (Joe) Wade, Patsy (Darrell) Marshall, Franklin "Danky" (Janetta) Mitchell, Cathy (Billy) Watkins, Edith (Arthur) Linville, Lonnie Mitchell, Sue (Dean) Mitchell and Richard (Marsha) Mitchell; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 23, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home, with Brother Gaylord Gillispie officiating. Burial will follow in Elizaville Cemetery on Monday, February 24, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Marshall, Bryon Mitchell, Damon Linville, Shawn Mitchell, Josh Mitchell, Brandon Marshall and Patrick Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be B.J. Watkins and Franklin Mitchell.
