Ruthie Mae Earlywine King, age 77, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away September 15, 2003, at Saint Joseph Hospital, in Lexington, Kentucky. She was the widow of Edgar H. King, who died April 27, 1968. She was a housewife and a member of Concord Christian Church. Born in Nicholas County, Kentucky, on July 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Harley Earlywine and Lula Belle Kelley Earlywine.

Surviving are: eight children, Maudie Nash, of Cambridge City, Indiana, James H. (Fannie) King, of Tollesboro, Phyllis King, of Concord, Anna M. (John) Duncan, of Concord, Edgar (Eva) King, of Vanceburg, Lee King, of Concord, Barbara (George) Corns, of Concord, and Jeannie (Jerry) Bloomfield, of Carlisle; 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ed Earlywine, of Ewing, and Bob Earlywine, of Paris; two sisters, Jean Hunt, of Maysville, and Lida Belle Mitchell, of Flemingsburg; and a long-time companion, Fred W. Corns. She was preceded in death by: a son, Richard King; four brothers, Audrey Earlywine, Loyde Earlywine, Lewis Earlywine and Clarence Earlywine; and four sisters, Betty Kelley, Elizabeth Hunt, Francis McIntosh and Iretta Jolly.

Funeral services were conducted September 17 at Barbour and Son Funeral Home, with Brother Larry Tucker officiating. Burial was in McClurg Cemetery, at Concord.
