1987-- Janie Farmer Scott, 81, of Walling Street in Campbellsville, daughter of the late Milton Tungate and Elnora Herron Tungate was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, March 26, 1906. She died at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 1987 at the Metzmeier Nursing Home in Campbellsville after an illness.

She was a member of the St. Mark United Methodist Church. She united in marriage to Ottis Farmer January 10, 1922. He preceded her in death June 13, 1955. She reunited in marriage to Clay Scott who preceded her in death also.

She was preceded in death by one son, Murrell K. Farmer March 30, 1987.

She is survived by one daughter and two sons: Joyce McDonald of Campbellsville; Charles E. Farmer of Elkhorn; and Ancil L. Farmer of Louisville; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; five sisters and two brothers: Mae Farmer, Mandy Harden, Olene Gaddis, Mrs. Elmer Gibson, and Rae Whitley, all of Campbellsville, Jessie Tungate of Elkhorn, and Onie Tungate of Marseilles, Ill.; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Perry Tungate and Albert Tungate.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Friday, May 22, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Bro. Roger Holmes, Bro. Carol Perkins, and Bro. Norris McCawley. Burial was in Jones Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Don Farmer, Larry Farmer, Murrell Farmer Jr., Roger Farmer, Ancil Lee Farmer Jr., and Mike Farmer.
