Perry Tungate Obituary - 1984 ---Mr. Perry Tungate, 72, of the Farmers Chapel Community in Taylor County, Elkhorn, Route 1, son of the late Mr. Milton Tungate and Mrs. Elnora Herron Tungate, was born in Taylor County, Kentucky, March 27, 1912. He died at 1:50 p.m., Thursday, December 26, 1984, enroute to the Taylor County Hospital. He was employed by the Golden Founday in Columbus, Indiana, until he retired March 4, 1968.
He united in marriage to Miss Grace Weaver, August 29, 1959. Besides his wife, Mrs. Grace Weaver Tungate of Elkhorn, Route 1, he is also survived by one son and one daughter: Mr. Douglas Tungate of Louisville, and Mrs.
Annetta Johnson of Hope, Indiana; and seven grandchildren.
He is also survived by two brothers and six sisters: Mrs. Janie Scott, Mrs. Elmer Hickerson, Mrs. Albert Harden, and Mrs. Irvin Gaddis, all of Campbellsville, Mrs. Elsie Rae Whitley of Campbellsville, Route 6, Mr. Jesse Tungate and Mrs. Mae Farmer, both of Elkhron, Route 1, and Rev. Onie Tungate of Marseilles, Illinois; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 28, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev. J. D. Campbell and Rev. Lowell Lay. Burial was in Jones Chapel Cemetery.
