DEAD
An 8 months old son of Charley Bryant and wife died Tuesday morning of Catarrhal Pneumonia. The child had been very sick for several days. Its remains were interred at Friendship. R.C. Taylor conducted the services.
**************************

Ryal is the son of Charles Zachariah and Alice Siddie Moore Bryant. There is a double marker for him and a baby sister named Fay. Ryal had the following siblings:

Burgess Marie Bryant 1889 – 1961
Ruby May Bryant 1891 – 1967
Ione Elizabeth Bryant 1893 – 1979
Lura Jane Bryant 1895 – 1990
Fay Bryant 1897 – 1898
Julian Egbert, Sr. Bryant 1901 – 1995
Jettie Lee Bryant 1904 – 1993
Alice Eleanor Bryant 1905 – 1906
Evelyn Ida Bryant 1907 – 1988

Ryal is a much used family name that seemed to begin with Zachariah "Rial" Bryant who was given this name I believe, as a nickname. Zachariah "Rial" is the son of early settlers in Gibson Co. - John Briant/Bryant and wife Frances, along with his mother Lucy Ward Bryant. The name has various spellings but like the name Zachariah, it is used many, many times in our Bryant family.

As for this baby, I do not have any record of his middle name if it existed. His parents lost three babies - two are buried here with this double marker. The burial of Alice Eleanor is unknown at this time but would most likely be here or in Bryant Cemetery where there are no markers left standing. Ryal was my grand uncle.

Rest sweet baby and be at peace as we remember you...
