UNMARKED GRAVE

Alice Eleanor is the daughter of Charles Zachariah and Alice S. Moore Bryant. She was born between Jettie Lee and Evelyn Ida. She had several siblings connected below. She only lived about 1-1/2 yrs. Alice is the third child of Alice and Charley Bryant who died as a baby. I know that must have been so difficult for my great grandparents. I was very close to a sister of this baby. My grandmother was Lura Jane Bryant Hudson and we talked often of her life growing up on the farm in Milan. However, she never mentioned the siblings who died as babies. I found these deaths on a copy of a Bible page that belonged to Alice Moore Bryant, her mother, and my great grandmother. These were her babies and as she did with all her children, she recorded their births and deaths in her Bible. As I've researched the lives of my ancestors, I've found several very tragic events. Having lost my firstborn granddaughter at only 22 yrs. old, in the prime of her life, I have endured a glimpse of the hardship and pain these events caused. Connecting to your past gives you a special love and compassion for family. I believe that is an added bonus of genealogy.

It is believed Alice in buried here in Friendship along with siblings Fay and Ryal Bryant. However, no marker was found for Alice and her grave is among several unmarked or with marker now gone that were found in this cemetery. This is to the best of my current knowledge and records data base. Alice is my great aunt.
