CARNEGIE — Funeral for Doreta Mae Lawrence Gooday, 81, Carnegie, will be at 2 p.m. today at Alfalfa Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Kersh officiating. Mrs. Gooday died Thursday, June 19, 2003, at her home. Burial will be at Carnegie Cemetery under direction of Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home, Carnegie. She was born Feb. 4, 1922, in Carnegie, to Samuel and Betty Anderson Powers. She married Varny Thomas Lawrence on Jan. 16, 1942. He died in 1982. She married Bob Gooday on Sept. 10, 1984, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She lived in the Carnegie area most of her life, and was a member of Alfalfa Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, of the home; three sons: Carlin Lawrence, Carnegie; Allin Lawrence, Eakly; and Ray Lawrence, Pierce City, Mo.; four daughters: Ruth Farrelly, Lawton; Doris Butler, Mountain View; and Alice Mills and Brenda Thomas, both of Tuttle; a stepson, Johnny Lawrence, Sulphur; two stepdaughters: Edna Wood, Chowchilla, Calif.; and Willie Kinter, Jones; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Kathern Clinton, Carnegie; Betty Powers, Wichita Falls, Texas; and Barbara Johnson, Bowie, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Dale Lawrence and James Lawrence; a stepgrandson, Darrin Clifton; seven brothers; and two sisters.
