Father Unknown, Samuel was born to Serena Powers 1889 in Bell Co., KY. In 1895, Serena moved to Pottowatomie Co., Ok. with other family members. She had with her Samuel B, leaving her son Simuel in Kentucky. In 1900, Samuel is with his mother in Pottawatomie Co., Ok. In 1910, Samuel is with his Uncle George O Powers in Cleveland Co., Ok. (Mother not found) In 1920, Samuel is married and living in Caddo Co., Oklahoma. This was his last move.

Services Dec 31 in The Baptist Church For Sam B. Powers.
Services were at 2 p.m. December 31 at the Baptist church for Sam Powers, 61, a resident of this community for 45 years. He had been in failing health for a long time. He was seriously ill for only a short time in the Clinton Hospital where he died December 29. He was well known in and around Carnegie. Burial in Carnegie cemetery.
Samuel B. Powers was born at Pearl, Kentucky August 12, 1889. As a young man he came with his brother and uncle to Oklahoma in 1905. He married Miss Betty Anderson December 25, 1915. Thirteen children were born to them. A son, Alford Ray Powers preceded him in death in 1942. Mr. and Mrs. Powers lived on the same place in the Prairie Lone District more than 30 years before moving to town about 2 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Powers of the home; Hohn H, Betty Ruth, Barbara Ann, at home; Semuel B, of Santa Cruze, Calif.; Raymond T. of Eugene; Mrs. Dorothy Mathews; Mrs. J.T. Clinton and Mrs. Mattie May Shackelford all of Carnegie; Albert H and Mrs. Doreta Lawrence of Roswell, New Mexico and one brother, Simuel P. Powers of Carnegie and 26 grandchildren.
