OLTON - Funeral services for Ruben Powers, 76, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Main Street Church of Christ with burial in Olton Cemetery.
Mr. Powers died at 6:15 p.m. Wed, Dec. 26, 2001, in Running Water Draw Care Center.
He was born Dec. 15, 1925, in Carnegie, OK. He moved to Olton in 1955 and was a self-employed mechanic. He owned Rube & Son Garage for many years.
He was a member of the Olton Veterans of Foreign Wars and Main Street Church of Christ. He served with the military in World War II.
In September of 1942 he married Ruby Lawence in Carnegie. She died in 1981.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond Powers and Rusty Powers, one daughter, Diane Cotton, four sisters, Dorita Gooday, Catherine Clinton, Betty Polly and Barbara Johnson, nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A son, LeRoy Powers, died in 1991.
