S. Glenn Mitchell of Valier, is Dead

S. Glenn Mitchell, of Valier died Monday in the Adrian Hospital after an illness of eight months. His age was 46.
A lifelong resident of the Valier area, Mr. Mitchell had been employed by Means Brothers as a construction worker for the past 17 years. He was born in Frostburg May 5, 1906 the son of Clarence E. and Emma Weaver Mitchell. His marriage to Dorothy Kunselman took place June 8 1931. He was a member of the Frostburg Methodist Church.
Friends will be received in the Morrison Funeral Home where services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. Delmar Probst. Burial will be in the Frostburg Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Edith Louise and two sons, S. Glenn and Richard Eugene, at home; his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Mitchell, of Frostburg; five sisters, Mrs. Ray Houston, of Birmingham, Michigan; Mrs. Harry Johnson, of Valier; Mrs. Paul Mottern, of Frostburg; Mrs. Darrell Minich, of Windham, Ohio; ( Marjorie Mottern and Louise Minnick are really half-sisters); a half sister, Mrs. Harry Reddinger, of Timblin and three half-brothers, Thomas, Wayne and Fred of Frostburg.

My memories of Uncle Genn are a tall, dark haired, very slender man who loved to garden...I remember going home from a visit with him with an armfull of beautiful gladiolias.-JoAnne Shively
