Clarence Mitchell, Of Frostburg, Dies
Clarence E. Mitchell, 71, Frostburg farmer and a resident of the Frostburg area most of his life, died yesterday in the Adrian Hospital here following a long illness
Born in Clarion County Nov. 13, 1884, a son of Isaac and Sara Hilliard Mitchell;
he was first married to the former Emma Weaver. Following her death, he married the former Dora Mauk; who survives.
Also surviving are nine sons and daughters, Thomas, Wayne, Fred, Robert and Mrs. Paul Mottern, all of Frostburg; Mrs. Ray Huston, of Birmingham, Mich.; Mrs. Marie Johnson, of Punxsutawny; Mrs. Irene Houck, of Pughtown, W. Va., and Mrs Louise Minnick, of Garretsville, 0.; 40 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren, and a sister and two brothers, Mrs. Mae Lewis, of Erie; Jay Mitchell, of Punxsutawney R. D. 5, and Paul Mitchell of Ridgway.
Friends will be received in the Pifer Funeral Home here until Wednesday noon, when the body will be taken to the Frostburg Methodist Church, of which Mr. Mitchell was a member, for services at 2 p. m. The Rev. L. L. Lyon will officiate and burial will be in Frostburg.
