R. Marie Johnson, 84, formerly of 224 North Main St., Punxsutawney, died Sunday, September 22, 1991 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
Mrs. Johnson was born September 5, 1907 in Frostburg, the daughter of Clarence Elmer and Emma (Weaver) Mitchell. She was married May 23, 1923 to Harry L. Johnson, who preceded her in death on May 16,1983.
Mrs. Johnson was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Dorothy) Morrow of Punxsutawney and Mrs. Kenneth (Rebecca) Phillips of Punxsutawney;
one son, Leroy Johnson of Great Valley, N.Y.; and two brothers,
Robert Mitchell of Punxsutawney and Elmer Wayne Mitchell of Frostburg.
In addition to her husband, Harry L. Johnson, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Glenn Mitchell, Thomas Mitchell and Fred Mitchell; and five sisters:
Elsie Houston, Irene Houk, Sarah Reddinger, Marjorie Mottern and Louise Minnick.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Deeley Funeral Home of Punxsutawney. The Rev. Edd Myers will officiate.
Interment will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Frostburg.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
