Thomas Isaac Mitchell first married Mabel Iona Milliron on May 6, 1935. They divorced on April 27, 1953.

On July 8 1953 he married Edith Marcella Kunselman who had been married to Thomas Niel.

Thomas Isaac Mitchell married Lillian May Shaffer (nee Cable), daughter of Leroy Dallas Cable and Orpha Edna Swartz on August 20, 1976 in Marianville, Forest Co., Pennsylvania.

Thomas Isaac Mitchell, 75, of Brookville, formerly of Frostburg, died Wednesday, May 9, 1990 at DuBois Regional Medical Center East.
Mr. Mitchell was born November 24, 1914 in Frostburg, the son of Clarence Elmer and Dora Mauk Mitchell. He was married to the former Lillian Mae Shaffer.
He was a self-employed contractor in the Punxsutawney and Brookville areas.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Lillian Mitchell; six sons: Thomas H. Mitchell of Punxsutawney, Dennis J. Mitchell of Punxsutawney, Ronald G. Mitchell of Baltimore, Md., Elmer Mitchell of Milford, Mass., David L. Mitchell of Brookville, and Marvin Mitchell of Citrus Heights, Calif.;
three daughters: Mrs. Fred (Joyce) Zufall of Springfield, Deborah Cunningham of West Salem, Ohio, and Mrs. Dennis (Susan) Rankin of Punxsutawney; numerous grand-children and great-grandchildren, and several step-children; two brothers: Elmer Wayne Mitchell of Punxsutawney, and Robert Scott Mitchell of Punxsutawney; and two sisters: Marie Johnson of Punxsutawney, and Mrs. Darrell (Louise) Minnick of Garrettesville, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Edith Marcella Kunselman, on April 6, 1976; two brothers, Samuel Glenn Mitchell and Fred Mitchell; and four sisters: Caroline Reddinger, Marjorie Mottem, Elsie Houston and Irene Houk.
Private services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery, Frostburg.
