Arlowene Belle Selje, age 84, of Madison, died on Sunday, May 16, 1993 in a local hospital, after a brief illness. She was born on November 2, 1908 in Middleton, the daughter of William and Athol (Cross) Brassington. Arlowene married Arnold Selje on Jun 12, 1928. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Arnold; three children, Athol "Dodie" (David) Suminski of Mason; Francis (Debbie) Selje of Marshall, Carole Gibbons of Verona; three sisters, Eileen Turk of South Bend, IN, Gladys (Arthur) Smith of Littleton, CO; Avis (Richard) Frank of White Pigeon, MI; three brothers, Lloyd (Elaine) Brassington of Madison; Bud (Arlene) Brassington, and Lynn (Dorothy) Brassington all of Verona; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers,William, Merle and Francis Brassington; and a son-in-law, Neal "Gibby" Gibbons. Funeral services will be held at the Gunderson funeral home, 5203 Monona Dr at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 1993. Rev. Paul Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow in Spring Prairie Cemetery of Keyser, Wisconsin. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday May 18, 1993 at the funeral home.
