Marion "Bud" Brassington, age 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, with his family by his side. He was born on March 4, 1924, in Madison, the son of William and Athol (Cross) Brassington. Bud was a veteran of World War II, having proudly served his country with the U.S. Army. On April 20, 1947, Bud married Arlene Fredenberg at Hope Lutheran Church in Cottage Grove. She preceded him in death in 2013. Bud was employed with Madison Prehung Door as a maintenance mechanic. Bud was a "jack of all trades" who could fix anything. One of his projects was remodeling their home in Montello himself where he and Arlene enjoyed the surrounding nature, wildlife, fishing and gardening. Bud is survived by his children, Richard (Karen) Brassington, Jane (Alan) Backus, Scott (Lisa) Brassington and Jody (Gary) Herbrand; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. In addition to his wife, Arlene, he was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave, Middleton, at 11:30 am on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare or a charity of your choice.
