ZIMMERMAN, Minn. – Mrs. Addie May Beard, 80, died Wednesday in the Princeton Community Hospital. She was born Feb. 25, 1888 in Baldwin Township. Mrs. Beard is a member of First Congregational Church. Mrs. Beard was preceded in death by her parents and husband, John, Dec. 14, 1961. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the First Congregational Church, Princeton. Rev. Clarion Olsen will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Princeton. Family services will be held at the Hanson Funeral Home, Princeton, today. Pallbearers will be: Marvin McKim, Kenneth McKim, Kenneth Burke, Paul Westman, DeLyle Swanson and Norman Looney.

Services April 9 For Adelia Beard

Funeral services for H. Adelia Beard were held Thursday, April 9, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with Rev. Scott Grotewold officiating. Mrs. Beard died Tuesday, April 7, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 88.

Born Dec. 11, 1892 at Baldwin, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Michael M. Looney and Addie Belinda Elizabeth Galbraith.

She was married twice. Her first husband was Peter Franklin Smith and her second husband was William Andrew Beard. Both are deceased.

A homemaker, Mrs. Beard lived in the Winterset area most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; daughter Orvetta V. Lovett; two brothers, Teddie and John; and four sisters, May, Maggie, Fannie and Agnes.

Survivors include: five sons, Leo C. Smith of Peoria, Ill., William Earl Beard and Guy Michael Beard of Winterset, Eldon Wayne Beard of Elk River, Minn., Marvin Dale Beard of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Myrtle B. Reed of Des Moines and Gladys M. Kohler of Winterset; one brother, Alfred E. Lowney of Zimmerman, Minn.; one sister, Stella E. Benson of Princeton, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.
