Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. Family will receive friends one hour prior, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Winterset Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.
Gladys, born April 28, 1935, the youngest of eight children, born to parents, William and Adelia Beard at the family farm in rural Madison County.
In 1947, the family moved to Elk River, Minnesota where Gladys graduated from Elk River High School in 1953.
Gladys and her husband, Glenn E. Kohler, lived in the southern Minnesota area, raising their seven children. In 1970, they moved their family to Winterset and lived there until 1984 when they moved to Casa Grande, Arizona.
Glenn passed away in 1990 and in 1995, Gladys moved back to Winterset.
After moving to Winterset, Gladys worked at Pamida for 13 years until she retired.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winterset.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn; son, Roger; granddaughter, Whisper; five brothers and two sisters.
