His obituary reads:
Mr. Clarence Anderson, 62, of rural St. Louis, passed away Monday evening in the Gratiot Community Hospital after suffering a stroke Friday morning while working on his farm. Mr. Anderson was born in Emerson Twpt., Gratiot County on Nov. 18, 1895, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson. In 1921 he married Agnes Finch and they have farmed in this area since. He was a veteran of World War I.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Agnes; Ten sons, Clarence Jr, Lewis, Ronald, and Arnold all of St. Louis, Richard and Howard, both of Lansing; Gerald of Oregon; Dale, who is in the Air Force stationed in Reno, Nev.; Basil, who is in the Navy and stationed in Guam; and Gale in the Army in Virginia; Four daughters, Mrs. Arline Farrier of Alma; Mrs. Dorothy Kienitz of Alma; Mrs. Laurrine Woods of Elwell and Miss Betty Anderson of St. Louis; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Elsie Anderson of Alma; 6 brothers, Loyd, Ford and Harold of Rural St. Louis, Robert and Ward of St. Louis, and Floyd of Alma; 6 sisters, Mrs. Leland Graham of St. Louis, Mrs. Vern Blissner, Mrs. Clayton Church, Mrs. Richard Simmons of Lansing, Mrs. Goldie Castle and Mrs. Forest Andrews of Alma.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 3, at 2:00 p.m. from the Crandell-Carter Funeral Home, St. Louis.
The Rev. Richard Canfield will officiate and burial will be at the Emerson Cemetery, Gratiot Co.
