Ethel M. Graham, 8195 N. Grafton Road, Alma, died Tuesday afternoon at Gratiot Community Hospital after being in poor health for the past five years. She was 78 years old.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Carter Funeral Home in St. Louis, Rev. Harold Mann of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at the Chapel Gardens Cemetery in Gratiot County.
Born Jan. 7, 1901 in Emerson Township, she was the daughter of Melvin and Elsie (Cameron) Anderson. She married Leland Graham on May 25, 1919 in St. Louis.
A lifelong resident of the area, she was a member of the Blue Star Mothers and the First United Methodist Church of St. Louis.
Surviving are five sons, Larry of St. Louis, Warren of Higgins Lake, Donald of Hastings, Robert of Alma and Norman of Alma; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Michael of St. Louis, Mrs. Helen Barnes of Haslett, Mrs. Billy (Elsie) Curtiss of Birmingham, Ala.; five sisters, Mrs. Lula Surdenick of Lansing, Mrs. Rhea Andrews of Alma, Mrs. Goldie Castle of Lansing; four brothers, Ward Anderson of Elwell, Lloyd Anderson of St. Louis, Bob Anderson of St. Louis, Ford Anderson of St. Louis; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
One grandchild preceded her in death in 1977.
