Mrs. Elsie Anderson, 91, formerly of Emerson Township, Gratiot County, died Sunday, Oct. 27, in Lansing at the home of her daughter. She had been in poor health the past year.
Mrs. Anderson was born March 25, 1877 in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of Catherine and Henry Carmon. In 1895 she married Melvin Anderson in Emerson Township where they farmed until retiring in 1943. They then moved to St. Louis.
Surviving Mrs. Anderson are six daughters, Mrs. Forest Andrew of Alma, Mrs. Leland Graham of St. Louis, Mrs. Vernon Bliesener, Mrs. Richard Simmons and Mrs. Goldie Cassle, all of Lansing, and Mrs. Clayton Church of DeWitt; six sons, Ford, Lloyd, Robert and Harold, all of St. Louis, Ward of Alma and Floyd of Carson City; 49 grandchildren; 106 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 1:30 p.m. from the Church of God in St. Louis. Rev. Raymond Fish will officiate and burial will be in the Emerson Township Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson will be at the Carter Funeral Home in St. Louis until 11 a.m. the day of the service.
