Arlene Chesney Farrier Solomon

Arlene Solomon, age 93, of Alma, MI, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant, MI.
Arlene was born in Emerson Township, MI on February 23, 1930 the daughter of Clarence and Agnes (Finch) Anderson. She was the seventh of sixteen children.
Arlene worked at home for many years, later working at Bouchey Monument and then at Michigan Masonic Home/Pathways. She enjoyed riding her bicycle, walking, looking for seashells, and especially spending time at family gatherings. After marrying Mack Solomon, they traveled and spent several winters in Bradenton, FL.
Arlene is survived by her children: Duane (Teresa) Chesney of Midland, MI, Randy Farrier of Alma, MI, David (Cindy) Farrier of Allegan, MI, and Diana Farrier Mizer of Mt. Pleasant, MI; seven grandchildren: Paul (Annette) Chesney, Kristee (Tom) Richards, Eric (Michelle) Chesney, Lisa Haiser; Leah Farrier, Ken Farrier, Carolyn (Robert) Clee; 13 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: John "Jack" Chesney, Gerald Farrier, and Mack Solomon; 11 brothers: Clarence "Andy", Gordon, Gerald, Richard, Howard, Arnold, Dale, Basil, Gale, Louis, and Ronald; 4 sisters: Dorothea, Loureen, Dorothy, and Betty; and a great-great grandson Leeland Chesney.
Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis, MI, on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Derreck Jewell officiating. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Alma, MI. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
