Tribute: George Riley Hill was born and reared in Reno County, Kan. His parents were Odus Grant and Flora Ann (Brooks) Hill.

On Feb. 5, 1928, he married Elsie Rebecca Meador.

After farming in Reno County for more than 20 years, Mr. Hill moved his family to a farm east of Cope in 1947. They farmed at several different locations in that area and also had a dairy farm, hardware store and restaurant in Cope.

Mr. Hill moved to Eaton in 1968 to help his son run the Galeton Garage. After moving to the Eaton area, Mr. Hill also drove a school bus for 14 years.

Mr. Hill and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 5, 1978, and Mrs. Hill died Feb. 22, 1978.

Mr. Hill married Ruby Farnsworth in November 1978, and they lived in rural Eaton until 1999, when Ruby Hill moved to Missouri to be near her children.

Mr. Hill then lived with his daughter and son-in-law, Rozetta and Pete Zimmerman for a number of years, and then with his son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Hazel Hill for several years.

Mr. Hill died Wednesday at Fairacres Manor, Greeley, after a brief illness.

Survivors: A brother, Frank Hill, and two sisters, Ruby Farthing and Edna Vedder, all of South Hutchison, Kan.; 11 children, Rozetta Zimmerman of Greeley, Kieth Hill and wife Elsie of Brighton, Wayne Hill and wife Alice of Colome, S.D., Dean Hill and wife Phyllis of Cope, Roy Hill, also of Cope, Glen Hill and wife Hazel of Eaton, Harold Hill and wife Wanda of Conroe, Texas, Mary Davidson and husband Herb of Red Feathers Lake, Nita Phillips and husband Paul of Eaton, Darrell Hill and wife Connie of Briggsdale and Gary Hill of Kirk; stepchildren, Floyd "Butch" King and wife Gloria of Hutchinson and family and Melody Casper and husband Kip of Arkansas and family; 32 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and 44 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: His wives, Elsie Hill and Ruby Hill; two brothers; five sisters; an infant child; and five grandchildren.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Greeley Wesleyan Church.

Internment: Eaton Cemetery.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at Adamson Downtown Chapel.
