Ethel H. Slifer, 96, of 2813 South. Broadacres Road, died April 11, 1995, at Silver Oak Health Care Center, Hutchinson.

She was born Feb. 26, 1899, at Nickerson, the daughter of Oduss Grant Hill and Flora Brooks Hill. She was raised in the Reno County ­Nickerson area and was a long­time McPherson resident, return­ing to Hutchinson in 1965. She was a retired kitchen manager/cook for McPherson College.

She was a member of Community Church of the Brethren, Hutchin­son.
On June 15, 1924, she married Dr. J. Fahrney Slifer at Nickerson. He died J.uly 6, 1977. Ethel and Fahreny had one child: Wilma Athene Slifer (1929-1945).

Survivors include: two brothers, George R. Hill, Eaton, Colo., and Frank A. Hill, of 322 East A, South Hutchinson; two sisters, Ruby Far­thing, 810 West 23rd, No. A, and Edna Vedder, 808 East Sherman.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. : today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday.

and 9 a.m. to service time Friday, all at the mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.

Memorials may be sent to Com­munity Church of the Brethren in care of the mortuary.
