Dr. J. Fahreny Slifer the son of John Clinton Slifer and Cora Virginia Fahrney, married 15 June 1924 in Salem Church, Nickerson, Reno Co., KS, USA, to Ethel Irene Hill daughter of Odus Grant Hill and Florance "Flora" Ann Brooks. Fahreny and Ethel had one child: Wilma Athene Slifer (1929-1945).

J. Fahrney had seven brothers and one sister. One of his brothers is Leon J. Slifer.
