Roy was the eighth child and fourth son born to Flora Ann (Brooks) Hill and Odus Grant Hill. He was born March 4, 1911 probably on a farm in central Reno county, around the Nickerson, or Partridge, Kansas area. Roy died of pneumonia on March 1, 1913 at the young age of two. Roy is buried in the Nickerson, Kansas cemetery in the family plot.
