Ann Stuberg was born at Trondhjern, Norway February 5, 1861, her death occurring at the age of 66 years, 6 months and 2 days. With her parents, she came to the United States when she was a child of four years, the family first settling at St. Paul. October 8, 1876 she was united in marriage and they then farmed in Moe township until seven years ago, when they moved to the village of Brandon, which is still their family home.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Thorson is survived by the following children: Mrs. Ole Arntson and Mrs. Meyer Skrove, Brandon; Mrs. Hans Helgeson and Martin Thorson, Moe; Mrs. Axel Wicklander and Mrs. Carl Scherrer, Alexandria; Miss Minnie and Oscar of Minneapolis. Four children preceded thier mother in death. They were Alfred, who died at the age of eighteen years, Carl, four years, Mrs. Elmer Smetstad, May 11th this year and Arthur, who died May 18 also this year. Her granddaughter, Serena Thorson, who became motherless when a baby, has made her home with her grandparents since. She also leaves the following sisters and brothers, Mrs. Ingeborn Howe and Mrs. Agnes Anderson of Evansville; Mrs. Anne Johnson and Mrs. R. Rasmussen, Duluth; Martin Stuberg, Leeds, North Dakota and J. P. Stuberg of Brandon. Two brothers, Ole and Oliver Stuberg and one sister, Mrs. Pederson have passed on.
Funeral services which were largely attended, were held Wednesday afternoon, at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at Chippewa Free church, of which she had been a faithful member, her place never being vacant when health permitted. Rev. Elias Pederson of Fergus Falls officiated. The pallbearers were Ole Lea, Ole Hanson, Ludvig Hanson, John Thompson, Halvor Landru and Peter Undlin. Interment was at the church cemetery.
