Lorenza Constance Skrove was born December 10, 1894 in Moe Township, Douglas County, the daughter of Lars and Anna Thorson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Chippewa Lutheran Church in Brandon, Minnesota. She attended school and grew to womanhood in Moe Township. On December 17, 1923 she was united in marriage to Meyer Skrove at the East Moe Church. After their marriage they continued to farm in Moe Township, later moving to Brandon and the past 17 years in Alexandria, Minnesota.
Mrs. Skrove passed away at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, on Wednesday, October 17, 1973 at the age of 78 years. She is survived by her husband; two sons: Melford Skrove of St. Paul, Minnesota and Warren Skrove of Alexandria, Minnesota; also surviving are nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two sisters: Lillian (Mrs. Carl Scherer) of Brandon, Minnesota and Minnie Thorson of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters.
Funral services were Friday, October 1973, 2 p.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Alexandria, Minnesota with Rev. Paul Ranum officiating. Interment at Chippewa Cemetery, Brandon, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Robert Jelsing, Ted Fisher, Cortland Scherrer, David Skrove, Robert Skrove, Donald Skrove.
