Lillian O. Scherrer was born in Moe Township, Douglas County on January 4, 1905, the daughter of Lars and Anna Thorson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Chippewa Lutheran Church in Brandon, Minnesota. She attended school and grew to womanhood on the home farm and for several years she was employed at the Alexandria Telephone Company.
On January 10, 1924 she was united in marriage to Carl Scherrer. Mr. and Mrs. Scherrer made their home in Alexandria until 1930 when they moved to Brandon, Minnesota where they have made their residence for the past forty-five years.
Mrs. Scherrer passed away at St. Lukes Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota on Saturday, May 31st, 1975 at the age of 70 years. She is survived by her husband, Carl Scherrer; one son Cortland of Brandon, Minnesota; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren and one sister, Miss Minnie Thorson of Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, June 3, 1975 at 2 p.m., Chippewa Lutheran Church, Brandon, Minn. with Rev. John Quam officiating. Interment was in Chippewa Cemetery, Brandon, Minn. Pallbearers were Edwin Larson, Ole Langos, Leonard Schulte, Roy Strom, David Thompson, Charles Bolin.
