I was born and raised in Fernandina Beach, FL. Growing up my mom was a nurse at our local hospital and my dad was a fireman. That means we knew a lot of local folks.
I enjoy taking pictures and walking around in Bosque Bello Cemetery. I have a lot of family and friends there.
When I walk around a cemetery I don't think about all the people who have died. I think about all the people who once lived. They deserve to be remembered and I try to give them a memorial page for that reason. It's not about trying to post so many graves, it's about trying to help family and friends have a memorial for them and a family link for future generations.
I enjoy Find A Grave website and have really liked helping others get connected to their loved ones.
I am also here to link my family members. My father's side are Fender, Zorn, Taylor and Harden. My mother's side is Deen, Smart and Ivey.
My husband's family are Rembowski, Griesemer, Mercer and Ramsay.
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiselled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
it is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.
