Upon "googling" my great grandmother's name, a link to Find a Grave appeared, and I found a photo of her headstone. I was amazed such a site existed, became hooked on this site and my family research, and have been contributing ever since.
My hope is to leave a legacy here for my children, grandchildren, and others by adding data and links.
I am not trying to amass large numbers of memorials. I just try to add data for families. I "inherited" quite a few memorials from two former contributors. I have used various sources to create memorials, but generally walk cemeteries and photograph stones. Please let me know if I have an error so it can be corrected.
I appreciate that others have helped me, and I truly try to help others. We are volunteers, so please refrain from making rude comments and demands.
I create memorials with dignity and respect for those who have passed. But I will remove a memorial if it is too sensitive for you, and I will remove photos you do not want on a memorial.
Forgive me for not having all burial locations identified. It takes time to research. Some obituaries/mortuaries currently do not list burial or disposition details. I will gladly update a memorial.
Unless one of my memorials is my relative or close friend, I have transferred memorials if you can and will add information. But please do not ask for a transfer and then do nothing with it.
I appreciate knowing about added posts to my memorials such as photos or obituary clippings that would help me link family members.
I am happy to share gravestone photos with you to use in your family albums.
