Peter was a laborer, and in 1846 lived in Lanark, Ont, Canada Con 5, Lot 13.
In Middleville: "Peter McLaughlin lived in the log house (now used for a shed behind Ruth Afflecks) which used to be out at street, on lot next to the Congregational Church. He sold the place to Arthur Croft. It is said he had a bag of gold coins. He gave one to my Father (ACH) when he was a young man before 18…? Peter married Rachel McKenzie on June 13, 1845.
