George H. Long, 72, Gettysburg R.5, Bonneauville, died Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. at the Warner Hospital where he was admitted earlier in the evening.

Born in Adams County, he was a son of the late Peter and Annie Lawrence Long. He was a plastering contractor for 32 years retiring in 1971, Mr. Long was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bonneauville, and the Holy Name Society of the Church. He was a member of the Adams County Fireman's Association, the Bonneauville Fire Co., and the VFW and Eagles of Littlestown.

Surviving are his wife, Marie C. Keiser Long, five daughters and six sons, Mrs. Donald Folkenroth Blue Ridge Summit; Mrs. Robert Hartzel, Arendtsville; Mrs. Michael Chrismer, Oson Hill, Md.; Mrs. Richard Noel, Gettysburg R.2; Sister M. Carina S.C.C., Mendham, N.J.; Melvin Long, 335 N. Franklin St., Hanover Levere Long, Bernard Long, and Burnell Long, all of Gettysburg R.5; Mark Long, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; Joseph Long, Oxen Hill, Md.; 17 grandchildren; three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Mary Miller, York; Miss Agnes Long, Hanover R.4; Mrs. Florence Smith, New Oxford R.5; and Jerome Long, Hanover.

Funeral services will be held Saturday meeting at the Hicks Funeral Home, McSherrystown, at 9:30 a.m. to go to Sacred Heart Basilica Church, Edgegrove, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Thomas J. McGough will be celebrant. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bonneauville. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening with prayers at 8 o'clock.
