James L. Long, 66, 367 South St., McSherrystown, died at 5:46 o'clock this morning at the Hanover Hospital where he was admitted Tuesday afternoon.

He was born in Adams County, a son of the late Peter and Annie Lawrence Long, and was a retired plasterer. He was a member of the Annunciation of BVM Catholic Church, McSherrystown, the McSherrystown Fire Co., and the Hanover Moose Lodge.

Surviving are his widow, the former Anna G. Ackerman; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara A. Conrad, Mrs. Rita M. Groft and Mrs. Margaret M. Staub all of McSherrystown; 13 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Miller, York; Miss Agnes Long, Hanover R. 4; Mrs. Lawrence Smith, New Oxford R. 2; two brothers, George, Gettysburg R. 5, and Jerome, Hanover.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, meeting at 8:30 o'clock at the Hicks Funeral Home, McSherrystown, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at Annunciation Church at 9 with Rev. Hugh J. McLaughlin, celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening. The Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock.
