Mrs. Mildred Mary Groft, 68, wife of William J. Groft, Hanover R. 4, Mt. Rock, died Friday at 8:15 a.m. at Hanover General Hospital, where she was admitted Wednesday. She and her husband celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary Thursday.

A daughter of the late Peter J. and Annie Lawrence Long, Mrs. Groft was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica, Edge Grove, and the Blessed Virgin Mary sodality.

Surviving besides her husband are: Eleven children, Mrs. Annie M. Orndorff, Gettysburg R. 4; Mrs. Grace McSherry, McSherrystown; Mrs. Ruth Smith, Mrs. Rose Marie Bunty, John, Joseph and George Groft, all of Hanover R. 4; Mary Groft, York; Mrs. Caroline Murren, Hanover R. 5; Bernard Groft. New Oxford R. 1, and Mrs Theresa Grouse, Minneapolis, Minn.; 41 grandchildren, one great grandchild; eight brothers and sisters, Mrs. Mary Miller, York; Leo Long, New Oxford; George Long, Gettysburg R. 5; Charles and James Long, both of McSherrystown; Agnes Long, Hanover R. 4; Mrs. Florence' Smith, New Oxford R. 1, and Jerome Long, Hanover.

Funeral services Monday at 8:15 a.m. with prayers at the Walter Funeral Home, McSherrystown, followed by a requiem Mass at 8:45 a.m. at Sacred Heart Basilica. Her pastor, Rt. Rev. Msgr. John P. Bolen, will be celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
