Miss Ruth E. Long, 61, Hanover R. 4, died last Thursday at 4:20 a.m. at Hanover General Hospital where she was admitted January 4.

She was employed at the Sylvania Shoe Company, McSherrystown. A daughter of Mrs. Annie Lawrence Long, Hanover R. 4, and the late Peter J. Long, She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Edge Grove, the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality, National Council of Catholic Women and the Ladies' Auxiliary of Irishtown Fire Company.

Surviving besides her mother are: Four sisters and five brothers, Mrs. Mildred Graft and Miss Agnes Long, both of Hanover K 4; Mrs. Mary Miller, York; Leo Long, New Oxford; George Long K. 5; Charles and James Long both of McSherrystown; Mrs. Florence Smith, New Oxford R. 1, and Jerome Long, Hanover.

Funeral services were held Monday at 8:30 a.m. with prayer at the Walter Funeral Home, McSherrystown, followed by a requiem high mass at 9 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Her pastor Rev. John P. Bolen, was celebrant; Rev. Rodney Hemler, Chancellor of Altoona, served as deacon, and Rev. Donald Adams Harrisburg, was subdeacon. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
