Charles Joseph Long, 62, husband of Mrs. Catherine M. Horwedel Long. 160 N. Second St. McSherrystown. died Saturday at 4:30 a.m. at Hanover General Hospital where he was admitted last Tuesday. He was a retired plasterer.

A son of the late Peter and Annie Lawrence Long, he was a member of the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary; Hanover Lodge 227, Loyal Order of Moose, and McSherrystown Home Association.

Surviving besides his wife are eight children, Richard Long, 236 Main St., McSherrystown; Jerome Long, Hanover R. 4, Mrs. Pauline Robinson. Mrs. Charlene Orndorff and Mrs. Joyce Miller, all of Gettysburg R. 5: Randy C. Long, Hanover and James F. and Ronald J. Long, both at home; 17 grandchildren and seven brothers and sisters. Mrs. Mary Miller. York; Leo Long and Mrs. FlorenceSmith, both of New Orford, George Long. Gettysburg R. 5; James Long, this place; Jerome Long, Hanover, and Miss Agnes Long, Hanover R. 4.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. with prayers at the Walter Funeral Home, Ridge Ave.. McSherrystown. followed by a requiem Mass at 9 am. in the Annunciation Church. His pastor. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Patrick F. McGee. will be celebrant. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Basilica Cemetery.
