Leo A Long, 74, 112 S Orange St, New Oxford, a retired plasterer, died Wednesday evening at 7 20 o'clock at Green Acres.

He was a native of Adams County and was a son of the late Peter J. and Annie Lawrence Long. He was a member of St Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception at New Oxford He also belonged to the Holy Name Society, the Moose and Eagles lodges of Hanover, the Hanover Home Association and the New Oxford Social and Athletic club. He was a past Commander of the Theodora Pfeiffer Post of the Sons of Union Veterans of New Oxford.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Smith Long, to whom he had been wed for 51 years last April; six children, Edward Long. Hanover R. 5; Mrs. Geraldine Laughman, New Oxford, Mrs. Mary Dowden, Hampstead, Md ; Mrs. Robert Naill, New Oxford: Mrs. Emma Williams, East Berlin R. 2, and Glenn Long, Green springs. There are 37 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren. Six brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Mary Miller, York; George Long, Gettysburg, R. 5; James Long. McSherrystown; Agnes Long, Edge Grove; Mrs. Florence Smith, New Oxford R. 2, and Jerome Long. Hanover.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at the Feiser Funeral Home in New Oxford at 8:30 o'clock. There will be a requiem Mass at 9 o'clock a St. Mary's Church with the Rev Fr. Cletus Wagman as celebrant. Interment will be made in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at New Oxford.

Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock where prayer will be recited at 8 p.m.
