-----------
Odis was reared in Vernal, Utah. Because the depression was very severe during his teen years, he had to go to work for the WPA and forget about schooling. Often his paycheck was the only source of income for his family. He was especially attentive and helpful to his mother.

He was called into the army during World War II, being stationed at Moore Field for two years. He was waiting for an assignment on the front lines when the war ended. After their marriage they remained in Mission.

Odis worked for the Mission Pacific Railroad Company for 25 years. He was active in the LDS Church, holding various positions. He was serving as Sunday School Superintendent at the time of his death. He enjoyed working in his orchard, home and yard, but his greatest love was his wife and son, Robert.
